Sycamore Aves Youth Cheerleading, SAYC is a non-profit organization that operates to promote organized youth cheerleading activities for all youth in the district, occasionally outside of the district by sponsoring, organizing and/ or supervising youth cheerleading events within the district.  We are a part of the GCYFL league which also includes the following school districts: Hamilton, Anderson, Ross and Talawanda.

The Sycamore Aves Youth Cheerleading board meets the final Sunday of every month.  This board holds one Fall and one Spring cheer parent informational meeting respectfully.  SAYC will also hold two open forum board meetings for family participation in December and June each calendar year.  It is encouraged for families to come to share their experiences and ideas for the board to consider in future meetings.

Our coaches are required to complete the Heads-Up Concussion training, and Lindsey Law certification.  Finally, each coach will complete both an FBI and BCI background check.  These forms will be on file with the Cheer board and Greater Cincinnati Youth Football League, GCYFL.  The Heads-Up certification and Lindsey’s Law certifications will be filed additionally in the football binder for each respective team.  Coaches will also participate in Cheer training designed by the SHS Cheerleading leadership team.

Practice days are determined by squad/ age, but each squad will practice a minimum of two days per week during the registered season.  Time commitments will be engaged as Fall sport (June-Nov) or Winter sport (Nov- March).  Each season will have a separate registration process.

Registration fee and current uniform cost is $185.00 which includes the shell, skirt, turtleneck, brief, game day bow, breast cancer awareness bow, shoes, camp T-shirt, cheer bag and fleece jacket.  For teams that compete they will incur additional fees.  Families that are interested in learning about financial aide eligibilty are encouraged to follow up with our board Secratary to learn more.

Cheerleaders will rent cheer poms from the organization and return at the end of the season.  Any poms that are lost or damaged will result in a $20 replacement fee.


Committee Chairs

Sycamore Aves Youth Cheerleading truly appreciates the energy and effort of our families.  We would not be the same without you!  Non-board Committee Chairs will work with the assigned board member to facilitate the assigned tasks for each appointed season.  The Cheer board will provide each chair with parameters, finances and materials necessary.  Committee Chairs are asked to serve for one season and are free to reapply if they would like to continue after the completion of their assigned season.  Please consider serving as a Fall (June-Dec) or Spring (Jan- May) season Committee chair for one of the following:

                  Communication & Marketing (social media and school events)- Secretary supported

                  Cheer Spirit & Events (EOYC, clinics and community events)- Director supported

                  Fundraising (in-kind and financial donations)- Treasurer supported
